Process description Dutch for non-native speakers NT2 
A Dutch course is for foreigners living in the Netherlands who want to live here and/or apply for a residence permit. It promotes integration and participation in Dutch society. Learning to speak and write Dutch is essential for those who want to settle in the Netherlands.

Register 
Registration can be done online through this website. The course information for beginners is in both English and Dutch. If you do not have a valid email address, you can register by registration form and pay by direct debit or pay in cash at the office. Course materials, such as books, are not included in the course fee. The student will receive an automatic confirmation email after registration. This e-mail states, among other things, that the course participant will be informed no later than one week before the start of the course whether the course will continue or will be canceled if there are too few participants.

Start NT2 courses
All our NT2 courses start twice a year, in September and in February. At the end of April and at the end of November you can find the NT2 courses on this website and register. We also have special courses Dutch writing (Dutch: beter schrijven) or to improve speaking / pronunciation (Dutch: beter spreken).

Enrolling in the meantime
When the lessons have already started, you can still enroll. For this you have to contact the administration. We will arrange an intake interview with a teacher so you can start in the right course in terms of level.

Level and nature of the lessons
We work with the levels of the Common European Framework Reference (CEFR form A1-C2). See also the website www.erk.nl. The emphasis is on everyday Dutch. All our NT2 courses are intended for people who have had secondary and higher education in their native country. It is preferred that you have knowledge of a foreign language, such as English, French or German. 

1 If you have no knowledge or very little knowledge of Dutch, you can register for level A0-A1 using the website or registration form. 

2 If you have followed a course elsewhere or have done self-study, you might be able to start at a higher level. All students who do not start at level A0 will have an intake interview with the instructor to determine the appropriate level for the course.

The student will be asked to show recent test results or diplomas (no older than 6 months).

Then he/she can enroll in consultation with the instructor for the appropriate level.

The lessons
Duration and number of students 
Our courses are held in class once a week, on different days and hours. One lesson lasts 1.5 hours. From the first lesson, we speak mainly Dutch. Classes take place with a minimum of 8 students. The maximum number of students in a course is 16 to 19. If a course is full, you can register on the waiting list. If there is a waiting list, a new course will be planned. 

Homework
Students should count on spending about 3-4 hours per week on homework. Our free digital learning platform My People's University supports classes at your home. You do not have to pay extra for this.  On this secure internal platform, the teacher and the student keep in touch during the weekly lessons. The teacher describes the content of the lessons and indicates homework for the next time. The teacher can also post additional material on the DLP. You will receive detailed information about this from your teacher during the first lesson.

Teachers
The NT2 coordinator searches for suitable teachers before the start of the school year. The teacher receives a contract of assignment.  

Books and teaching materials
In the language courses the teachers use various books. The course indicates which book to purchase (ISBN Number). These costs are not included in the course price. We strive to complete a module (3 courses) with one book to keep the cost for you as low as possible. We recommend that you proceed with the purchase of the textbooks when you are certain that the course will continue. Most of the books are available through the various bookstores in Breda, as well as online. If the instructor himself makes a syllabus, you can buy it directly from the instructor. The rights are then with the lecturer and you also pay at the lecturer. 
We do not recommend the use of second hand books because you often no longer have access to the website that accompanies the book. 

Passing the module.
Attendance
At the beginning of each class, the teacher will note your attendance. These attendance lists are kept in the office.
After each level, the teacher will check if you are still on track. If you are at least 80% present you will receive a certificate of attendance. This is not a diploma. During your personal coaching, the teacher will explain what you need to work on in order to pass the module at the end.

At the end of a module you will take a test in the last lesson. You will receive a note on your certificate of participation stating that you took the test and whether it was insufficient, sufficient or good. To obtain the Diploma NT2 see the following link: www.staatsexamensnt2.nl.

NT2 cursussen. Nederlands voor anderstaligen 

Proces omschrijving Nederlands voor anderstaligen NT2 

Een cursus Nederlands is voor in Nederland wonende buitenlanders die hier willen wonen en/of een verblijfsvergunning willen aanvragen. Het bevordert integratie en participatie in de Nederlandse samenleving. Nederlands leren spreken en schrijven is essentieel voor wie zich in Nederland wil vestigen

Inschrijven 
Inschrijven kan online via deze website. De cursusinformatie voor beginners is zowel in het Engels als in het Nederlands. Als je geen geldig e-mailadres hebt, kun je per inschrijfformulier inschrijven en betalen via automatische incasso of contant betalen op kantoor. Cursusmateriaal, zoals boeken, is niet inbegrepen in het cursusgeld. De cursist krijgt na inschrijving een automatische bevestiging per mail. In deze mail staat o.a. dat de cursist uiterlijk een week voor het begin van de cursus te horen krijgt of de cursus doorgaat of, als er te weinig deelnemers zijn, geannuleerd wordt.

Start NT2-cursussen
Al onze cursussen NT2 starten twee keer per jaar, in september en in februari. Eind april en eind november vind je de cursussen NT2 op deze website en kun je je inschrijven. Daarnaast hebben we speciale cursussen Nederlands schrijven (Nederlands: beter schrijven) of om het spreken/uitspraak (Nederlands: beter spreken) te verbeteren.

Tussentijd instromen
Wanneer de lessen reeds begonnen zijn kan je nog instromen. Hiervoor moet je contact opnemen met de administratie. Wij regelen dan een intakegesprek met een docent zodat je in de juiste cursus qua niveau kan beginnen.

Niveau en aard van de lessen
We werken met de niveaus van de Common European Framework Reference (CEFR-formulier A1-C2). Zie ook de website www.erk.nl. De nadruk ligt op alledaags Nederlands.
Al onze NT2-cursussen zijn bedoeld voor mensen die middelbaar en hoger onderwijs hebben gehad in hun geboorteland. Het verdient de voorkeur dat je kennis hebt van een vreemde taal, zoals Engels, Frans of Duits. 

1 Als je geen kennis of zeer geringe kennis van het Nederlands hebt, kan je inschrijven voor niveau A0-A1 middels de website of inschrijfformulier. 

2 Heb je elders een cursus gevolgd of een zelfstudie gedaan dan zou je mogelijk op een hoger niveau kunnen starten. Alle cursisten die niet op niveau A0 starten krijgen een intakegesprek met de docent om het niveau te bepalen welke cursus geschikt is.

De cursist wordt gevraagd recente uitslagen van toetsen of diploma’s (niet ouder dan 6 maanden) te laten zien. Daarna kan hij/zij zich inschrijven in overleg met de docent voor het juiste niveau.

De Lessen
Duur en aantal cursisten 
Onze cursussen worden klassikaal eenmaal per week gegeven, op verschillende dagen en uren. Een les duurt 1,5, uur. Vanaf de eerste les wordt hoofdzakelijk Nederlands gesproken. De lessen gaan door als er een minimaal 8 cursisten zijn. Maximaal zitten er 16 tot 19 leerlingen in een cursus. Is een cursus vol dan kun je inschrijven op de wachtlijst. Indien er voldoen wachtlijst inschrijvingen zijn wordt er een nieuwe cursus gepland. 

Huiswerk
Cursisten moeten rekenen dat men ongeveer 3-4 uur per week moet besteden aan huiswerk. Ons gratis digitale leerplatform Mijn Volksuniversiteit ondersteunt de lessen bij je thuis. Je hoeft hiervoor niet extra te betalen. Op dit beveiligde interne platform houden de docent en de cursist tijdens de wekelijke lessen door contact met elkaar. De docent beschrijft de inhoud van de lessen en geeft aan wat het huiswerk is voor de volgende keer. Ook kan de docent extra materiaal op het DLP plaatsen. Docenten
De NT2 coördinator zoekt voor aanvang van het schooljaar naar geschikte docenten. De docent krijgt een overeenkomst van opdracht.  

Boeken en lesmateriaal
Bij de talencursussen maken de docenten gebruik van diverse boeken. Bij de cursus staat aangegeven welk boek je moet aanschaffen (ISBN Nummer). De kosten daarvoor zijn niet inbegrepen in de cursusprijs. We streven ernaar om met een boek een module (3 cursussen) af te ronden om zo de kosten voor jou zo laag mogelijk te houden.
Wij raden je aan tot de aanschaf van de lesboeken over te gaan als je zeker weet dat de cursus doorgaat. Het merendeel van de boeken is te krijgen via de diverse boekhandels in Breda, maar ook online. Wanneer de docent zelf een syllabus maakt, dan kun je deze direct bij de docent kopen. De rechten liggen dan bij de docent en je rekent ook af bij de docent. 
Het gebruik van tweede handsboeken raden we af omdat je vaak geen toegang meer hebt tot de website die bij het boek behoort. 

Behalen van de module.
Aanwezigheid 
Aan het begin van elke les noteert de docent of je aanwezig bent. Deze presentielijsten worden bewaard op kantoor.
De docent toetst na elk level of je nog op schema ligt. Ben je ten minste 80% aanwezig dan krijg je een certificaat van deelname. Dat is geen diploma. Tijdens je persoonlijke begeleiding legt de docent uit waar je nog extra aan moet werken zodat je aan het eind de module kunt halen.

Aan het eind van een module leg je in de laatste les een toets af. Ook dit is geen diploma. Je ontvangt dan een aantekening op je certificaat van deelname dat je de toets hebt gedaan en of deze onvoldoende, voldoende of goed was.
